IETF 122 Bangkok registration open

25 Oct 2024

Registration is now available for the IETF 122 Bangkok meeting scheduled for 15-21 March 2025, which is the first time registration for an IETF meeting has been open before the preceding meeting registration has closed. This change has been made, after much work, in response to feedback that this will allow participants to plan further ahead, such as obtaining visas or management approval.

Bangkok, Thailand

Currently, registration is open for IETF 121 Dublin (2-9 November 2024) and IETF 122 Bangkok (15-21 March 2025). Participants can also sign up for and manage additional activities and options such as IETF Hackathons, onsite childcare, and social activities associated with IETF meetings. An updated dashboard allows IETF meeting participants to more easily review and manage multiple meeting registrations.

In general, meeting hotel reservations will be available when meeting registration opens, though the exact timing will vary depending on specific venues and contractual arrangements. Some information about future meetings will not be available until closer to the meeting dates. For example, details about New Participant activities are not usually set until a few months ahead of a meeting.

Importantly, making meeting registration available earlier in no way affects the timing of Important Dates related to IETF process activities, such as Birds of a Feather and Working Group session requests and scheduling, or Internet-Draft submissions.

As we gain experience with having multiple meeting registrations open at the same time, we expect eventually to have rolling availability for registrations three IETF meetings in advance.

Should you encounter difficulty with or have suggestions about the new meeting registration system, please send them to: support@ietf.org
